After running across Africa in 2014, Emma Timmis had been asked multiple times about sharing her story in a book and here it is! Her book begins as her run did, with her feet in the ocean at Henties Bay in Namibia. It then follows her journey across the desert, over hills and through the jungle until completing the adventure at the sea in Mozambique.  Emma is the main character in the book, the author, the illustrator and the publisher.
What better way to instil self-belief into people than to teach them they can achieve their dreams from a young age. Through her journey children can learn that if they set their minds to something they can achieve whatever they desire. They are guided through the adventure experiencing the highs and lows with a lesson in staying focused even when times are tough. They'll learn about the different countries she ran through, the animals she saw, and the variety of people and cultures she came across. This aims to help broaden children’s understanding of the world and other cultures. At a time when the world is in crisis, it’s really important to show that we are one global community and we care for each other.
